purchasesOur vision at A Matter of Mind is to provide education and raise awareness of mental health issues, specifically Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, among Emergency services and Correctional employees. What differentiates us is our aim to use sport as a adjunct to therapy. Healthy bodies support and build healthy minds. It is widely accepted that physical fitness and sport are excellent ways to manage stress and help heal the mind. This has also been the experience of our founders. We aim to provide clients with funding to pursue athletic endeavours be that by assistance with equipment purchases or tournament travel expenses. Even acquiring adaptive equipment for a sport you really loved to play but can no longer enjoy in tradition form due to injuries both visible and non visible.

We are in a fundraising cycle. Our goal is to raise $150,000 to professionally produce a documentary showcasing PTSD within the First Responder workplace with specific focus on Correctional staff. We hope this documentary will raise awareness which in turn will assist with changing policies and maybe even legislation.
